Jubilee Cup Finals Night

Well where do we start..

After qualifying for the Finals by winning all 3 of our games, we were hopeful of doing well at the finals night but we did more than that.

Our first game was against Fensicowles this was a pretty tough game and we ended up drawing 1-1. Our second games was against St Francis and the team pulled together and did what we do best, won! A great result against a good team. Our final game we not only needed to win but needed to win with at least 4 goals to qualify top of the group. In true Shadsworth style, the team rose to the occassion and we won 6-0!

The children were excited now and determined to do well and their playing just got better and better.

The semi-final was against St Pauls and this was a tough game but we manged to win again qualifying for the final.

The final was against Fensicowles, our first game of the night and the tournament! It was a tough game, both teams really wnated to win that trophy. Howevere we manged to score first and by half time the score was 1-0, we then managed to score another goal making it 2-0, but Fensicowles came back scoring straight after making it 2-1. Finally the whistle blew and we manged to keeo our lead, making us Jubilee Cup Champions for the first time ever!

It is easy to say that the teachers were bursting with pride, the children had demonstrted superb skill and a lot of the other schools also commented on well they played and that the win was deserved.

A huge Well Done to the whole team and we are now looking forward to heading to Blackpool to represent Blackburn with Darwen in the Lancashire Games.
