Jubilee Cup

On Tuesday, (17th October 2017) our Year 5/6 football team played in the Jubilee Shield Qualifier matches at St Bede’s School. The team played some really good competitive football and now have progressed to the finals, with the date to be announced.

All the hard work from the boys in training with Mr Baker was evident in the competition with the team not losing a game, winning two games and drawing 2 games. The results were: St Thomas (won 2-0), Lammack (draw 1-1), Fenicowoles (draw 0-0) and Wensley Fold (won 2-0)

On Tuesday, (7th November 2017) our Year 5/6 football team played in the Jubilee Shield finals night which was held at St Bede’s High School. SJS came very close in lifting the shield but were beaten in a close semi-final by the tournaments runners up Holy Souls by one goal to nil. SJS then went on to lose against Lower Darwen in the third place play-off. Well done boys on a magnificent team effort. The results were: Lower Darwen (draw 0-0), St Pauls (won 1-0), Salsbury (draw 0-0) Holy Souls (Semi-Final – lost 1-0) and Lower Darwen (3rd place playoff – lost 3-0)
