Welcome to Year Three!!
You are very lucky here in 3CW as we have two teachers! Mrs Wilkinson on Monday and Tuesday, Miss Candler on Thursday and Friday and both of us on Wednesdays. We also have Miss Eaton working with us in class.
We take our reading books home each night, they need to be returned to school every day even if they are not finished. Mrs Hetherington treated us to lots of new books so we can try reading a huge variety of stories at home now. Please make sure you look after these books as they cost a lot of money and look so much nicer when they still look new.
We have PE on Thursdays and we must have black shorts, white tshirt and pumps in school at all times.
Our science topic this half term is Rocks and Soils. We have been learning about the different types of rock and grouping rocks by their characteristics. We also made soil puddings to help us identify the different layers in soil. We really enjoyed this activity - yum yum!
Over the next few weeks we are going to be moving onto learning about forces and magnets and will be investigating which things are magnetic or not.
In English we are completing work around a book called 'The Street Beneath My Feet ' which links nicely with our science work this half term. In our work we have been using descriptive language to talk and write about what we might experience underground in the different layers of the earth.
In RE we are learning about the stories Jesus taught us and have begun by retelling 'The Good Samaritan.' In PSHCE we have been learning about relationships and have begun by talking about emotions and recognising how others might be feeling. In PE we are doing dance.
This page will be updated with what we are doing this term so keep checking back for more photos and information!
