Class 3VW

Welcome to 3VW!!  smiley

The class teacher in 3VW is Mrs Wilkinson and we are very lucky to have Miss Eaton who helps us!

All the staff  are so glad to have everyone back in school and learning face to face again. The place just hasn't been the same without you! When we first arrive at school we are going to be making our own history book for future generations called 'The Covid Chronicles', we will reflect on the good things that happened in lockdown and also try and record some facts about what we all just lived through.

In science this term we are learning about 'Light and shadows', so we will be investigating sources of light, making shadows and looking at how light travels through different materials.

We are also doing some descriptive writing based on Room on the Broom as a transition unit.

In PSHE lessons we are focusing on our mental health and wellbeing after lockdown and settling into our new class.

In computing we are looking at how to log on to the computers, finding out how to use Purple mash and thinking about how to stay safe on the internet both in school and at home.

In geography we are learning about different climate zones.

We will all be given a login for Times Table Rockstars and Purple Mash and we will put our weekly spellings on our class page. These will be posted on here on Fridays.  At the start of term we will send a homework book with a half termly sheet with different tasks to choose from. You have all half term to complete as many as you can. You return the book at the end of half term and we will quarantine it for 72 hours. There is an opportunity to earn money for the Shadsworth School Shop if homework is completed and handed in on time.

For this term we do not require children to bring PE kits into school as we are doing daily outdoor sessions with the children.

This page will be updated with information and photographs throughout the year so please check back to see what we have been up to.
