Witton Park Athletics

On Monday 19th June, shadsworth Juniors participated in the BPSSA Athletics Competition which was held at Witton Park track. 32 primary schools from the borough were invited to compete in this competition. Our squad was made up of 26 pupils from year 3 all the way up to year 6, taking part in various track and field events.


All the children at the event was amazing, giving 100% effort in their particular event with some making it into the finals.


Jeremiah, a favourite to win the year 3 80m sprint got off to the best start by blowing the field away in the first heat. Unfortunately, in the final, he came up against a tough opposition however, he managed to get the silver medal by coming second.


Shadsworth was in the medals again with David who managed to book a place in the year 4 80m sprint race by coming second in his heat. He ran a great race in the final and snatched bronze medal for himself, brilliant effort.  


Two more pupils were among the medals with Eli in the year 4 cricket ball throw, finishing second with a huge throw, missing out on gold by centimetres. And lastly, Filip was crowned with the bronze medal in the triple jump. Brilliant effort boys.
