  • Computing

    INTENT

    • Our curriculum is broad and balanced to provide all children regardless of ethnic origin, gender, class, aptitude, or disability to meet the National Curriculum.
    • Computing is embedded in the curriculum to support pupils with the progression of computing skills that they can apply both in and out of school.
    • We aim for computing to have a positive impact on pupils’ creativity, motivation, independence and collaboration, behaviour, and attitudes.
    • It's an enjoyable experience so pupils can develop a deep and lasting interest and may be motivated to use them further.
    •  For children to use computers in experimental, imaginative, exploratory ways. This will include regular opportunities to engage with computer programming.
    • We take online safety very seriously and strive to make it an important element throughout our computing curriculum.
    • We hold online safety as a high profile in our school by ensuring the following:
    •  A relevant up-to-date online safety curriculum that is progressive from Year 3 to the end of Year 6.
    • Our home/school links and communication with parents are kept up to date with relevant online safety matters, policies, and agreements.
    • Pupils know who to contact at school if they have concerns.
    • Data policies that stipulate how we keep confidential information secure.

    IMPLEMENTATION

    • Verbal feedback during the lesson on the next steps
    • End of unit quiz based on the National Curriculum key objectives for the unit
    • Recorded and tracked using INSIGHT Tracking
