Hello and Welcome to the

Art Room!

In the Art Room the Class Teacher is Miss Jolliffe and the Class Teaching Assistant is Miss Yelverton.

Once a week, your child will visit the Art Room to carry out exciting Art/D.T lessons which will be linked to the topic(s) that your child will be taught in class. Therefore, we will give Art a meaningful context for your child and, furthermore, reinforce learning that your child will receive in their topic lessons.

We also love to celebrate the children's achievements in Art and put them on display in school where we can.

Autumn 1 Art/DT Topics

Year 3 - shadow puppets (structures)

Year 4 - Healthy eating (food)

Year 5 - cam mechanisms (moving toys)

Year 6 - Hokusai - Volcanoes

Important things to remember:

• Always try your best.
• Have fun with Art
• Don't be afraid to make mistakes. That's why inventors put rubbers on pencils!
• The 'earth' without 'art' is just 'eh'.
