Year 5 The Amazon Rainforest

Year 5 have been very busy creating rainforest paintings using a variety of different media. The children have had lots of fun exploring different techniques in their sketchbooks before creating their final pieces and had the opportunity to practice drawing birds native to Brazil. 

Initially inspired by the work of Henri Rousseau, the children have added their own creative influences to his work. 

The children then created woven willow leaves. Lots of patience and perseverance was needed whilst winding the wool around the willow frame but it was worth it in the end as they look amazing alongside their rainforest paintings!
