The geography field trip to Garstang was a fun and hands-on way to learn about the River Wyre. We started the day with a nice walk along the river, taking in the scenery. Then we sat down and sketched the river, really focusing on the details. Walking past the flood barriers, we got to see how they protect the town from floods. After a sunny lunch break, we did a cool experiment with dog biscuits and a timer to measure how fast the river flows. The day wrapped up with some chill time at the park, where we enjoyed ice lollies and relaxed. It was a great mix of learning and fun, and we all came away with a better understanding of the river and its surroundings.

Martin Mere Wetland Centre is an amazing place for people of all ages to see birds and wildlife from the UK and around the world. We had a great time exploring the park, watching the birds, and having fun on the playground. It was a fantastic day out!

Another great tennis session this morning with Alison from South Ribble Tennis Centre.

A brilliant start to World Book Day with a dance workshop linked to The Ironman book.

This morning we have been busy in class doing some first aid training.  In this workshop children learnt how  to deal with bumps, burns, breaks and bleeding, carry out CPR and deal with choking.  The class was practical, lots of fun and involved lots of activities that the children  enjoyed.

All the children received a certificate at the end of our mini first aid course which lasted 2 hours.

This afternoon 4B went down to the South Ribble Tennis Centre in Preston where we had 2 hours practising our tennis skills that we have been  learning in school on the indoor tennis courts. All the children were fabulous and Alison and Dec our tennis coaches were really impressed with them all.

Yesterday 4B went to the Deva Museum in Chester to learn all about the Romans. The children spent the morning inside looking at artefacts and learning all about how the Romans lived and what they ate. ( They used to eat slugs!) We then got our swords and shields and marched around Chester, practising the different Roman army formations.
