The knock out stages were nail biting with each match 12 minutes long.
Our first match was against Rossendale and after the full time whistle went the score was still 0-0. The girls battled for an extra 5 minutes before winning on penalties 3-2.
On to the semi-final where we played Preston. Once again we fought hard and went into extra time but unfortunately it went again to penalties. This time we were unlucky and lost with Preston winning 2 goals to 1.
The girls came 4th overall out of the competition and were amazing throughout. They dug deep showing great determination and should be very proud of themselves for such an achievement.
Jubilee Cup Final
These girls are on fire at the moment! We are so proud of Team Shad Girls Football Team. They made it through to the final 8 schools in the Jubilee Cup and went on to win it.
The girls beat 2 out of the 3 teams in the group stage rounds and made it through to the semi finals where they beat St Peters in extra time 1-0.
The final game was against a very good side- Feniscowles but they dug deep and won 3-0. Well done girls. You persevered on a very cold night.
They now go on to represent the town in the county finals event in January.
Shadsworth Juniors V Feniscowles Primary School
The girls' football team played a friendly against Feniscowles Primary School on Tuesday night at OLSJ. The girls played amazing but just conceded a goal in the last 5 minutes of the game. Well done Team Shad. You showed great sportsmanship and determination on a very chilly evening.
