Mental Health Awareness Week 2020

May 18th - 24th is Mental Health Awareness Week!

Mental Health Awareness Week is there to help us all understand a little more about mental health, why its important and what we can do to help it.

This year's theme is...

Kindness has been chosen because it doesn't matter what age you are, we can all show kindness to help make the world a nicer place. Kindness can help us to make friends, make others feel happier, help people, and also makes us feel better, too!

Did you know: every culture in the world values kindness!

We also want to celebrate the kindness already shown in our world. Think of Captain Tom Moore, the 100-year-old who walked around his garden to raise money for the NHS a few weeks ago. Click here to read!

What is kindness?

- Kindness is being friendly, generous and considerate of others. It is a way to show you care about another persons needs and feelings. Kind people never expect anything in return

How can kindness help mental health?

- People like to make others feel better, so by helping others, we feel good and that makes us happier! Kindness helps us feel like we belong and that we are not alone. Kindness also helps us to not feel stressed and makes our friendships better. This is why Miss Norris and Ms Bolton always tell you to be kind! because we know it helps you, too!

How can we show kindness?
